Meet the Paleontologist

Jurassic Park Triceratops

Drs. Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler tend to an ill Triceratops in the movie Jurassic Park

Hello, everyone!  My name is Adam Laing, and I am a student of paleontology. I got my BA and MS in paleontology at the University of Pennsylvania and am now pursuing my PhD at Stony Brook University.  I’ve been obsessed with all things prehistoric ever since I can remember.  I basically grew up in the American Museum of Natural History in New York and still go there whenever I have the chance, only now I act as more of a tour guide there for my friends and family.

I have done field work digging up dinosaurs both in the American west and in China, some of which I’ve documented right here on /comment.  I’ll also write articles about dinosaurs in general, sharing my knowledge about these wondrous beasties and their kin.  If anyone has any requests, I will be happy to write about them; if not, I will simply go with the things that interest me and that I know best.  That’s all for now. I’ll return soon!
